What is Parafos?
Parafos is an additive for potable water systems that prevents mineral/calcium buildup and pipe corrosion. Parafos sequesters minerals like calcium and magnesium ions, keeping minerals in suspension. It dissolves existing scale and iron deposits resulting in more efficient flow and improved energy efficiency.
Forming a microscopic layer on all pipe types, Parafos protects internal surfaces and prevents scale buildup or soft water corrosion responsible for pinhole leaks.
Increase Efficiency by Eliminating Scale
Scale buildup from hard water insulates the heat transfer surfaces in hot water tanks and the distribution systems. This reduces heat transfer and increases energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by up to 5-25%. Parafos eliminates scale buildup for better system efficiency.
Improve System Health By Stopping Corrosion
Dissolved oxygen in the water supply accelerates corrosion causing pinhole leaks and leaching of lead and copper into drinking water systems. The costs associated with repairing, replacing, or re-piping plumbing systems are significantly higher than the minimal cost of Parafos treatment.
Reduce Staining By Preventing Oxidation
Parafos® combines with metals to form a compound that slows down and prevents oxidation from occurring, reducing red and black staining in sinks, toilets, and other fixtures.
Certified Safe For All Systems
